Tripping over cracks in the sidewalk (open)

Today was like every other day, it was cold, or at least cold for Ryan, and she was even tempted to grab a jacket instead of a hoodie; but she didn't. Her hair was down, and just visible under the hood of her Volcum sweatshirt. Her face was concentrated and her hands steady as she prepared to take the picture.

The swings were empty, and the metal of the slide was probably cold as ice, but the atmosphere that it threw off, made everything look empty, lonesome, but welcoming all the same. It was the feeling she hoped to capture in the picture. Once taken she lowered the camera, "sweet deal." she murmured into the cold air, her breath like fog rising in front of her.

She grinned and walked over toward the slide, more than prepared to freeze her butt off, just for a shot from above; dreams died slowly though, when her converse shoe hit the edge of a slightly raised block in the side walk, and she went crashing down to meet it face first. Throwing her hands out, she caught herself, but her Camera went flying, "No no no." she called, as if it would stop it.

[Daniel Mercedes]

Daniel was in the mood for a walk, so before leaving his dorm, he grabbed a hoodie and threw it on, while walking to the park. It was chilly outside, so he pulled his sleeves into his hands and grasped them as he walked, later shoving them into his pockets for further protection from the cold. He arrived at the lonely park and watched a girl that was fixing to take a picture. As she tripped he outstretched his hand, and saw a very expensive camera go flying into the air.

He ran towards the camera, after the girl started to shout and got there just in time to catch it. Daniel slid across the rocks of the playground area of the park. The sleeve of his hoodie flew up, scruffing his arm to the max, but the camera landed safely between his hand and his stomach. He sighed a bit, and held out the camera to the girl.

"I think this was yours," he said, his arm outstretched. Daniel sat up and held the camera until she took it. He looked over his arm that was red and bleeding slightly. He would be fine, though. Daniel looked back up at the girl and smiled brightly.

Ryan watched in slow motion as her Camera was caught, before she jumped to her feet. Grinning she shyly took the camera, "My hero." She started as she peered at his arm. A grimace crossed her face for a moment, "Hold on." Sitting on the ground she handed him back the camera, and her hand went to her back pocket.

A second later, she pulled out a White bandanna, "I tend to fall a lot." she muttered embarrassed by admitting it, "I've come to learn to keep something like this on me." She passed it to him and took the Camera back, "Colors could cause infection, so its always best to stay with white." Biting her lip she stood up and extended her hand to help him up.

"And now That I've embarrassed myself enough for one day, I mine as well tell you my name." She stopped talking, and looked around, "oh right, name. I'm Ryan."

Daniel took her camera back, and then handed it to her again. He outstretched his arm, and let her wrap the bandana around it. Ouch. He smiled and nodded, "Thanks for that," he said, "Wow. I'm a hero," he said in a deep voice. It made him think. He looked at Ryan and watched her, smiling down at his sore arm. He looked back up at her when she was finished and smiled, "Thanks again," he said, and stood up fully.

"I'm Daniel, nice to meet you.. Ryan," he said, smiling and pulling down the sleeve of his hoodie.

"It wasn't a problem, Like I said, I'm used to it. I think I've hurt a fair amount of people with my trips and falls." Ryan smiled and looked down at her camera, "I should be saying thanks, considering that I haven't yet, so..." she attempted a curtsy, but the fact that she wasn't wearing a skirt, it looked pretty funny, "Thank you kind sir."

Grinning she stood up, "Average name number, 3 I believe." Lifting her camera to her eye she snapped a shot of him and laughed, "Need something to remember the day I met a hero. I mean one day I'll grow old and my memory will fade, but the pictures in my portfolio, will live on in time." Laughing again she gave a small shrug, "Well a girl can dream, and who knows, maybe that one, will be the Master piece."

Turning her head, she looked back at the slide, "Hmm, would you mind very much, if you froze your bottom off to help me with a picture?" Now this was a very straight forward way for Ryan to ask for help, considering she hated it so.

Daniel shook his head and laughed lightly. His face was turned away and a large smile was spread over his face. She snapped a photo and he saw a small flash of light. Daniel was used to pictures, so this didn't come as a scare or shock to him. He turned back and looked at her a content smile dancing about his lips. She caught a candid. He raised an eyebrow and broke out into a small laughter.

"Yeah, well, that's what I'm here for," he said, smiling, "To freshen up your aged mind in a few decades." Daniel laughed and looked out at the playground and then back at Ryan, "Wow, that sounds like a pretty harsh punishment for being such a great hero," he said, but smiled, "Yeah, I'll freeze my butt of. What do you want me to do?" he asked, shoving his hands into his pockets and rocking on his heels slightly.

"Well as they say, a Hero's work is never done." As he agreed, Ryan's face broke out into a wide smile,"Great, well you see; I've taken some pictures from this view." She ran behind him, moving him gently to the spot she was at, so that he could get the picture, without actually seeing it, "But I was thinking, there are many sides to things, different views, different light."

So, she was dragging out the explanation, but she didn't really want to freeze her butt off either, "So, what I was about to do, before I fell, as to climb up that..thing, and Sit on the slide, to get a different, view." It was her turn to rock on her heels, but instead of putting her hands in her pockets, she Played with the buttons on her camera, "But as you've seen, I haven't the best balance in the world. Now originally I was going to do it alone, more than likely plummet to my death, and be discovered the next day by an old woman walking her dog." Pausing she laughed, "right so maybe I put too much thought into that last part, but Would you mind, joining me on the slide, so that...I don't plummet to my death and all?"

Daniel chuckled lightly and stopped, pulling his hands out of his pockets and putting them behind his head. He stretched, and felt his back pop a small bit. He felt better and was ready to do whatever Ryan asked of him. Daniel listened to her explanation, and raised his eyebrows- half confused. He cocked his head to the side, his eyebrows raised, and an unusual expression about his face.

"So, basically you want me to do.. what?" he said, "In English, please."

Ryan laughed, "sorry, I tend to do that, just reel off and confuse people." She stopped talking for a moment to allow herself a laugh, "anyway, I'm asking if you'll join me on the slide so I can take pictures, and make sure I don't fall."
She crossed her fingers and jumped up and down like a little kid, something that always made her older brother cave and join in on whatever it was she was planning, "Pwease?"

Daniel shook his head with a laugh, but looked up at Ryan jumping slightly and couldn't help but to smile and nod. "Sure," he said, walking towards the slide and leaning against it, "Put me right where you want me. You're in charge," he said, laughing still.

Daniel bit down on his lip, wondering how they were going to do this. Would she take pictures of him sliding, sit on his lap, go in front of him, what? He raised an eyebrow slightly confused but a smile covered his face from ear to ear.
